Here is the new blog address:

You can look for each yearly posts there. I can't figure out how to upload pictures there yet. I feel like my parents working the Beta Max looking for some help from a young whipper snapper. I figured this site out, but the technology changes each year....

Sarajevo Fog has a changed title

I've moved to Talking About My Generation

I missed my yearly blog deadline this year

The season of Sakura is almost upon us. The cherry blossom anticipation is growing, not only for this temporal moment of nature's merriment but for man's too. I wonder how much a natural occurrence in its natural setting influences a culture? I mean how did the actions of a distant brother or sister, some historical dude or classy broad in kimono, that went out into their garden and had a great idea - inspire the habits of life today? I wonder how much we're missing out on- when we're living amongst too much concrete and not connecting with the rhythm of thought from this historical soul?

Aside from that, most humans just need a reason to celebrate. I understand from work that the business year and paperwork of the year is now at a feverish pitch to make year end review. Even the local school kids have short-timers' disease with the school year about to come full circle. Although, come to think of it, given the Japanese penchant to work till death, instilled at birth, this may inspire disappointment from many locals.

I'm naturally a cynic when it comes to joining a celebration that is universal and all too often has become water downed, over hyped and overblown. Notwithstanding, the Sakura blossom should be magical given its origin that only an actor or the destitute in the fetal position could be disappointed with.

There will be many words, analogies, haiku, and symbols this sake flooded affair will inspire. One that can be made now about the wonder of life inspired by the Sakura blossom is, last year at this time, I had no idea that this would be an event I could look forward to or even think about existed. Oh, the mystery of it all. I did wish to ride a fast train and see a monkey bathing in an onsen but that was more of "oh, that's a possibility? that will be nice." That was nice. Monkeys are great.

So, as I pause to flip the salsa record I got for a steal at 300 yen, I can't but help think it will be nice to cruise my yellow bike through the park on a warm windy evening or a bright spring morning after the crowds long went home and the dog walkers and homeless reclaim the park while the blossoms dive, hold sway and flutter past, given to a new role that has always been. I'll ride through as Curious George given a great responsibility. Well,... I've been lettin the record skip. A little Miles Davis slow horn to transition. Until we meet again.
